CES 2020 – Things that made us go OOH
CES 2020 ends today and no doubt you’ve seen some of the amazing creative and design work across social media these last few days. The annual trade show is where the world of tech and creativity merge to give us a glimpse into what the future may look like. Here, we look at a couple of the best creative concepts and designs that popped up in our news feeds this week.

Mercedes-Benx Vision AVTR
Mercedes based the design and aesthetic for its latest concept car on the world of Pandora from the movie Avatar (yep, that’s an actual sentence I’ve just typed?!), and we must admit, we drooled a little when we saw the below video. I’ve never been attracted to a car before but hey, new year, new me?! Chief design officer Gordon Wagener said “We didn't want to create a car, we wanted to create something like a living organism” in the keynote speech with director James Cameron by his side. The wheels are modeled on jellyfish, the batteries it runs on are fully compostable and it has vegan leather seats. We can just imagine the looks you would get driving it through town.

Hyundai SA-1
Another incredibly cool design that dominated the CES headlines was the unveiling of the latest drone taxi plane madness by Hyundai as aprt of the Uber Elevate scheme. One driver, four passengers. We hope we’re alive to see the taxi-rank for this one. “Any chance we can stop at the ATM pal?”
Forty-nine feet. That’s the wingspan of the air taxi that Hyundai and Uber hung from the rafters at #CES. Piloted by one person and able to swallow four passengers, it‘ll take them up to 180 mph. Learn more: https://t.co/TUmcX953lV #CES2020 pic.twitter.com/EgKWI22uZD

Royole Tree Display
This really pretty if slightly over-the-top way to display your bending/folding screen technology definitely got us thinking of ways to implement the idea closer to home. Clean, effective and eye-catching. Lovely.

LG Fridge
We saw this and immediately wondered how the hell we didn’t think of it first?! A fridge that let’s you grow your own herbs. Surely this already exists? Nope. Granted, we’re not exactly the Diarmuid Gavin of green fingers so this may have slipped under the radar anyway but goes to show, a great design or concept is one that seems so obvious and familiar at the same time as showing you something completely new.

Aipower Smart Watch
We absolutely LOVE the design here. Misplaced earbuds are fast becoming the lost TV remote of our first world problemed generation. This identifies the issue and comes up with a sleek answer to all your wireless headphones worries, and while the watch seems a little bulky it’s certainly not the worst looking one on the market. Smart. Watch.
Never lose your wireless earbuds again! They’re in your smart watch! This is Wearbuds from Aipower. The smartwatch is a case and charger. $179. #CES2020 pic.twitter.com/LIKRfYd9zv
